BYNT Houtskeletbouw, part of Bruinsma Bouwbedrijf, is a specialist in timber frame construction, has recently invested in a four-way electric Combilift CB40E with KOOI® ReachForks. This combination of a forklift and reach forks provides BYNT with the flexibility essential for efficiently and safely handling large and wide construction elements. “With these hydraulic extendable forks, we can easily transport elements of varying widths without risking damage to, for example, insulation foil,” says Jelmer Bruinsma, director of BYNT.

This new investment stems from a longstanding challenge faced by BYNT. The standard forks on their forklifts were often too short to safely handle wide roof and wall sections, leading to a risk of damage to the constructions. “Previously, we used separate extension sleeves to lengthen the forks, but this presented various drawbacks. The sleeves were heavy, had to be reattached each time, and increased the workload for our employees, raising the risk of back injuries,” explains Bruinsma.

The KOOI® ReachForks solve these issues with their telescopic design, which can be easily adjusted to the width of any element. This allows the forks to extend when needed without the drawbacks of the old extension sleeves. As a result, BYNT can now safely move wood packages and other loads without forks or sleeves protruding beyond the load, reducing the risk of damage.

The new four-way side loader CB40E enables BYNT to transport large panels sideways out of the production hall and safely load them onto trailers. This loading method not only saves time but also creates more workspace and enhances safety, especially when traffic is nearby. Trucks can also be loaded from one side, improving efficiency and simplifying logistics on the premises.
